Postgraduate Research Showcase

The 2017 Research Showcase will be held on 20 June 2018. More details to follow.

The annual Postgraduate Research Showcase brings together and recognises the excellence of Warwick’s postgraduate research.

For postgraduate researchers, this is an opportunity to hone your presentation and public engagement skills, showcase your research, explore new connections with the wider University community and potentially win a prize.

For Warwick staff and students, as well as for the wider community, you will be warmly invited to come along, meet our new generation of researchers and enjoy dynamic, engaging presentations about fascinating projects and how they are making an impact.

The competitions

The Showcase event brings together two academic competitions in one day: a research poster competition and Warwick’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition. Both competitions are open exclusively to current Warwick students registered for a postgraduate research degree (3MT® is open only to doctoral students).

The Poster competition displayed the breadth of research knowledge across Warwick, and there was a engaged buzz throughout the hall during the competition.
Congratulations to Sophie Meakin from Mathematics who was both the Science Faculty winner and Overall winner.
Runners up were Cameron Lack ( Mathematics); Zoe Willis (Life Sciences); Kathryn Hales ( Life Sciences);
Departmental winners were Rebecca McKeown ( Medicine); Devon Allcoat ( Psychology); Richard Sherry ( History)
Popular Choice winner Chengcheng Kang ( WBS)

Congratulations to all of you for your contributions to an engaging and successful day.

Look forward to seeing you next year.

Three Minute Thesis

Congratulations to the well-deserved winner of the 3MT competition Divya Sukumar, and her presentation titled Truth. Divya is researching for her PhD in the Psychology Department. Her presentation has been entered for the 3MT national finals and we wish her the best of luck. The competition was very close for runner up with Bo Kelestyn from WBS with her presentation Unicorns and Hockey sticks coming second.
