For Supervisors

What is an ePortfolio?

An ePortfolio is a website that showcases the research, experience and professional development of an early-stage researcher (e.g. PhD students and contract research staff). It is owned by the researcher, and its development is their responsibility.

The e-lab and Graduate School Programme teams at Warwick have designed an easy-to-use template, which will enable researchers in your group to produce an ePortfolio that is world-wide accessible, professionally designed and simple to use and update.

What do they look like?

The template includes categories for research information, a record of their professional training, a place to record teaching experience and their CV. Among the possible pre-set links is a blog connection, which can be a place to record their own ideas for personal use, as well as to publish informal postings that are open to feedback and comments. The ePortfolio template is based in Sitebuilder, a tool developed by e-lab to make publishing information on the web simpler.

You can take a look at some examples.

Are you supervising PhD students?
