Business Studies, Stratford-upon-Avon College
I first learned about the Warwick IFP course when a representative from Warwick University came to our school for a university conference. The minute the Warwick induction had started, I completely fell in love with the idea of being part of the foundation course. I genuinely believed that joining the course would give me a competitive advantage over other students; and in my case, it definitely did. The fact that the foundation programme was being carried out under the renowned banner of Warwick University gave me the extra boost I needed to apply. To put it frankly, although I had applied to Kings College and Leeds University for the respective foundation courses, I was overjoyed when I received my offer from the Warwick IFP.
I was one of the first ones to arrive at the college accommodation and I found the management quite pleasant. They were very helpful indeed. With time however, I’ve grown so attached to this place; its beauty and serenity, it’s quite heartbreaking that my stay here has come to an abrupt end. It’s funny how time flies so quickly. I think the best thing I liked about the college was the limited number of students. It was easier to remember faces and get to know one another quickly. I also learned how to converse with other friends in their native languages and a lot about their cultures too. Being a business student here, I think this experience would help me a lot later in life.
With regards to the course, I have to say it’s quite intensive! There’s a lot of work to do and a lot of hard work and effort needed to be put in to achieve the best results. The teaching staff and the staff working in the international office make a point to put the students first and help them out through each step of the way. I was impressed and to this day am very grateful for all their support. Especially the personal tutors; without their assistance, I don’t think I would have been able to achieve my level best and attend the university of my dreams. Quite fairytale like, but it’s true.
This course is great stepping stone for securing your future. I can guarantee that you will learn a lot along the way; about others and yourself too. If you stay determined and focus from the start, success is yours. If you can’t, it’s better you use some other foundation course because Warwick will push you to your breaking point until you succeed.
