A-Level / IB Diploma Applications

The Warwick IFP is not normally suitable for students who have completed, or are in the process of completing, a full A-Level programme or the IB Diploma. In the majority of cases, students undertaking such qualifications should consider instead applying via UCAS to the University of Warwick (please see our Undergraduate Admissions website for further details).

However, we recognise that there may be some circumstances where students feel they would benefit from an additional year of study following completion of a full A-Level programme or IB Diploma. Students may still be considered in the following circumstances:

  1. Change of Academic Direction: A student possesses a strong profile of A-Level / IB Diploma grades suitable for direct entry to a range of courses but lacks the subject mix that would enable them to progress directly to the degree course of their choice.
  2. Personal Circumstances: A student has suffered significant and prolonged extenuating circumstances during their A-Level / IB Diploma studies which have resulted in their final grades being lower than reasonably anticipated.
  3. Significant period has elapsed since previous study: A student has successfully completed an A-Level or IB Diploma programme more than three (3) years ago and now wishes to re-commence their studies.

In such circumstances, students will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be invited to participate in an interview (either in person at one of our Overseas Offices or via Skype) to ascertain their suitability for the Warwick IFP. Additional information (e.g. a medical certificate or summary from a registered medical practitioner) may also be requested from the applicant prior to or after any such interview.

Requirements for those with AS Levels or the IB Certificate can be found at the end of the table of entry requirements.
