    Tom Oliphant
    Project Leader

"I am a fourth year Automotive Engineering student, I am also the project leader and the driver for the 2012 EVGP team. I have been interested in motorsport for 11 years now, having raced karts for all of them, and this was the main reason I asked to be a part of the project. In my 11 years racing I have competed in all forms of karting from schools karting (NatsKa) to the British S1 Championship and the European Rotax Championship. For 2012 I have decided to take my racing to the next level, starting the Formula Renault BARC series."

    Chief Engineer

"Applying science to problems and arriving at solutions has always appealed to me; now working on the evGP kart as my fourth year project, I have the opportunity to do this in an interesting and exciting field of engineering. My particular area of interest is aerodynamics, which has lead me to designing the bodywork panels for this years kart. In addition to this, I am working on sponsorship, promoting our project to outside companies for funding and support in two way relationships."

    Jonathan Ikin
    Chassis Team Leader

"I am a fourth year Mechanical Engineering student and am head of chassis in the 2012 Warwick Racing EVGP team. I've been following Formula 1 and various other forms of motorsport for 10 years now and am becoming increasingly more involved in the karting world. My academic interest is drawn predominantly to the finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) aspects of engineering."

    Amin Oskrochi
    Powertrain Team Leader

"My desire to compete in the evGP project stems from my background of flying electric powered model helicopters; technologies that have been utilised for many years in model flight are only just being adopted in electric vehichles which puts me in a unique position to design and develop the power sustems for our Kart. My academic interests lie in manufacturing engineering, process development and product design."

    Sponsorship / Chassis, Powertrain

"I am a final year Mechanical Engineering student responsible for sponsorship and finance of the 2012 EVGP team. Academically my interests include fluid dynamics and finite element methods. I have previous experience in innovation and taking conceptual ideas through to manufacture and implementation."

    Health & Safety / Powertrain

"I am a fourth year student studying Mechanical Engineering and my group project this year is the EVGP. I am mainly working on the drive train part of the go-kart and making sure the team have the necessary health and safety information. I look for practical and effective solutions to problems which will allow me to help the team design, build, test and race an electric go-kart."

    Outreach / Powertrain

"I am a fourth year student studying Automotive Engineering and it is definitely my pleasure to be involved in evGP project before my graduation. As I am mainly responsible for wiring system and LED battery indicator design in the powertrain team, this is such a great opportunity for me to learn from the beginning about all the fundamental features of an electric go-kart, as well as the electronic mechanisms in both literature and in the practical application of the knowledge. Additionally, one of the essentials in evGP is to promote how it benefits to the whole local community, so I also work on holding outreach events throughout the whole year."

    I.T. / Chassis

"As a final year Automotive Engineering student, looking into further depth of different road vehicles has always been my interest. I feel that it is absolutely a great opportunity for me to explore more about the balance between eco-friendly and motorsport through this evGP project. I am looking forward to turning my skills and knowledge into practical help for the chassis design team, as well as promoting our team to others through this website and social networks."

    Anna Scura
    CAD Design / Chassis

"I am a final year Mechanical Engineering student and am part of chassis team in 2012 EVGP team. Racng sport was one of the reasons I chose this profession. I've been following different types of motorsport like Formula 1 and WRC since a very young age. I've got interested in the idea of "green motorsport" while doing a reasearch project on WorldFirst F3 car. My main focus is CAD design and its applications. Also, I have keen interest in aerospace and space exploration."
