Research Profile

My research focuses on a number of related areas including biocomposites for medical devices as well as in automotive and aerospace applications. I developed a novel high strength bone graft material during my Engineering Doctorate and I am now collaborating with a number of companies to commercialise it. My research on sustainable materials such as natural fibre and recycled carbon fibre composites has resulted in a number of journal publications and recently these materials have been showcased on the Lola/Drayson racing Le Mans Prototype race car. I have extensive industrial experience of lean and six sigma which I now apply within the healthcare industry and I supervise a Knowledge Transfer Partner (KTP) with Nissan investigating niche vehicle manufacturing in the UK.
