UK Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology
The mission of the UK Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology is to translate state-of-the-art lab technology into deployable practical devices. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, with academics and leading companies working together to translate research into marketable applications. We are an international centre of excellence bringing together world-leading physicists, engineers, industry and end-users.
To support our mission we have a partnership fund of £5.2 million. A majority of this resource will be used to fund activities in the following area:
- End-user driven demonstration activities – supporting the translation of quantum science and technology to solution prototypes and demonstrators. The scheme will have an open scope and will fund activities across the value chain (ranging from sub-system components through to final products and services) using three funding instruments:
i) feasibility studies (small studies to validate technical and market feasibility);
ii) research and development projects (larger projects targeting development and demonstration of technology and system prototypes); and
iii) coordination and support actions (actions to coordinate and support engagement of industry with the hub and facilitate knowledge and technology transfer).
