Leverhulme Trust - Senior research fellowships
The Royal Academy of Engineering, in partnership with the Leverhulme Trust invite applications for its senior research fellowships. These enable engineering academics to concentrate on full-time research in any engineering discipline by relieving them of their administrative and teaching responsibilities. In addition, funding enables a junior academic to gain teaching and administrative experience by covering the duties of the awardee.
Applicants should hold a permanent teaching position at a UK university at lecturer, senior lecturer or reader level. They must be teaching an engineering discipline at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Applicants must also demonstrate a significant administrative workload which prevents them dedicating enough time for research. Applications from mid-career candidates are particularly encouraged. Applications from women and other underrepresented groups across engineering are also encouraged.
Up to seven fellowships cover the costs of a replacement academic to cover all teaching and administrative duties for up to one year. A support fund of up to £2,500 is also available for research costs such as travel, conference attendance, subsistence and laboratory consumables.
