Outreach

What is Outreach?

The Department of Physics participates in and runs a variety of activities which engage with the wider community, and in particular schools.

We are all passionate about Science, and welcome the opportunity to share our enthusiasm with others. Most of these activities are free, although availability may be limited.

If you are interested in working with us, or have an idea that you would like our help with, then please contact the Department's Ogden School Teacher Fellow Ally Caldecote, whose contact details can be found here.

Recent Events

  • The Department's visit to a local school
  • ScienceSnaps - a two-part competition Reflecting on a Science City. Second part of the competition (for year six pupils) now open.
  • The cash prizes were awarded to the winning researchers from the first part of the ScienceSnaps Competition at the Birmingham science festival on Tuesday 14th September.

Future Events

  • University wide open day on Saturday 7th May 2011. More Information can be found here.
