UG Handbooks 2011/12

This is a complete guide to the undergraduate degree courses taught by the Physics department. We make every effort to ensure that it is accurate, however, the final arbiter of University policy is the official University regulations, as laid down in the Calendar, the Course Regulations and the official timetable.

In addition to these regulations there are a number of other rules and guidelines that affect you. These have been collected together under the Rules and Regs. heading of the menu on the left. Some of these items, e.g. those relating to plagiarism and examination requirements, are very important. It will be assumed that you are familiar with them.

A further document that you will find useful is the Student Handbook. New students should have received a copy of this. However, it also available for on-line consultation. This contains lots of information about general academic matters and about the various welfare and support services that are available.

Information related to specific degree programmes can be found by clicking on the relevant item on the courses menu to the left, as can copies of timetables. You should also consult the non course-specific information.

All changes made to these handbooks, or the timetable, after the beginning of term will be noted under News & Changes, it is a good idea to look at this item regularly.

If you are unsure where to find the information you are after you can search the Physics website using the link that is always available at the bottom of the menu.
