Impact
We have delivered and are involved in a numerous successful high level multi-partner, multi-sector projects.
- High Value Manufacturing Technology and Innovation Centre (HVMTIC) £75m pa recently launched forthcoming initiative combining a consortium of 7 research centres to form the Technology Innovation Centre. WMG's project competencies will focus on lightweight product and system optimisation, energy storage and management, digital validation and verification.
- Institute of Digital Healthcare (IDH) £4m centre working with alongside Warwick Medical School and West Midlands NHS to develop solutions and adopting new technologies to provide better greater healthcare efficiencies, wider choice and greater quality of service.
- Vehicle Energy Facility (VEF) is a unique £2.28m state-of-the-art hybrid powertrain research facility supporting research on hybrid architectures, as well as conventional pure electric vehicle powertrains. The facility is the UK's only purpose built for vehicle types from passenger cars through to heavy duty applications.
- Premium Vehicle Customer Interface Technologies (PVCIT) £5m centre working with global companies and SMEs to provide direct access to the latest product evaluation technologies and processes, along with expertise to identify and solve engineering problems.
- Low Carbon Vehicle Technology Project (LCVTP) £19m project to discover sustainable new technologies to reduce the weight of vehicles: the development of low carbon vehicles and using the latest technologies to design products.
- Premium Vehicle Lightweight Technologies (PVLT) £6m project working with West Midlands based companies to contribute to global initiatives in lowering carbon emissions from vehicles: the unique blend of collaborative research and development focused on lightweight materials, combining simulation tools, forming technology, joining techniques for design, high impact capability and associated manufacturing processes.
- Premium Automotive Research and Development (PARD) was a £72m project which looked at improving the design and manufacturing capability of the West Midlands supply base.
