Labour’s Forum for Young People held at WMG, University of Warwick


Ed Miliband MP and Professor Lord BhattacharyyaA Labour Party Forum for Young People was held at WMG’s International Digital Laboratory on 16 March. The event was attended by Labour Leader Ed Miliband MP, who was welcomed to the campus by WMG’s Chairman, Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, along with the Vice–Chancellor, Professor Nigel Thrift and Registrar, Mr Ken Sloan of the University of Warwick.

The event provided Young Labour members with the opportunity to discuss issues with the shadow cabinet and ask questions about key issues. The Labour leader used the conference to unveil his ‘real jobs guarantee’ election pledge, a scheme for young people who have been out of work for more than 12 months.

Among the many other ministers attending the event were: Chuka Umunna MP, Shadow Business Secretary, Yvette Cooper MP, Shadow Home Secretary, Ed Balls MP, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves MP, Shadow Chief Secretary of the Treasury, Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Harriet Harman MP, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and Sadiq Khan MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Justice.
