Professor Lord Bhattacharyya, Chairman of WMG, welcomed Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP, Shadow Home Secretary and Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities to the International Digital Laboratory on 5 November.

Ms Cooper and Lord Bhattacharyya took part in a round table discussion on the latest developments in cyber security and digital healthcare with Professor Christopher James, Director of the Institute of Digital Healthcare at WMG, Dr Duncan Hine Principal Fellow (Cyber Security) WMG and Professor Sudhesh Kumar, Pro Dean of Warwick Medical School.

Speaking immediately after the discussion Ms Cooper said:

Today's discussion was very interesting, Dr Hine gave an excellent insight into the most up to date research in cyber security, how it might be implemented and the practical consequences for our everyday lives. The work undertaken by the Institute of Digital Healthcare could transform many aspects of medicine. My short visit was very useful it's always important for me to keep up to speed with these fast moving areas of science.
