Current research involves simple general equilibrium models of global imbalances, analysis of boom and bust in asset markets, and the determination of oil prices using the Hotelling approach.

Topic pursued during tenure of a Houblon Norman Fellowship at the Bank of England, October - December 2008 was 'Credit Boom Credit Bust in Central Banking'.

Research during an ESRC Professorial Fellowship 2004-2007 involved game theory applied to debt restructuring, law and economics, and models of capital flows.
