    Overseas Qualifications: UK Equivalent Scores

    IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THIS
The information published here is intended only as a helpful guide. Stated equivalents are neither absolute nor complete. If you are in any doubt please contact us or your department to discuss your application. Satisfying the grade requirement of your course is only one aspect of the application and does not guarantee admission.

    POSTGRADUATE APPLICANTS:
At Warwick, postgraduate courses require a UK degree score of ‘Second class or higher’, however some courses (typically in the Sciences) require a ‘Lower Second (2.2) or higher’ while other courses (typically in the Arts & Social Sciences) require an ‘Upper Second (2.1) or higher’.

How can you know what your degree score is equivalent to?
The information given here is published in order to help you answer this question. It is not meant to be (and cannot be) comprehensive nor 100% accurate; it is only a guideline. The University understands that it is not possible to draw exact parallels between education systems. In particular it should be noted that, for many countries, the University recognises significant variance between institutions and that, for example, a score of 70% from one university is not the same as a score of 70% from another university.

For most countries we are only publishing the grade which approximately equates to where a 2.2 (Lower Second) ends and a 2.1 (Upper Second) begins. Applicants should read the published grade as an approximation only and remember that it does not represent the entry requirement of any individual course, it is simply an indicator of how overseas entry requirements equate to the UK system

If you are in any doubt please contact the International Office or your department to discuss your application in detail.

To find the actual entry requirements of your course (UK system) please refer to the postgraduate course directory
