Even if you don’t win, you still stand a chance of making the final shortlist of ten, all of whom also get a chance to be considered for a ‘paid – for’ internship with EDF Energy and will be invited to the Undergraduate of the Year Awards as their guests.

IET: Present Around the World

Want to develop your presentation skills and add something to your CV?

'Present Around the World' (PATW) is an IET global presentation competition for students, recent graduates, apprentices and young professionals aged 18-26 years. There are cash prizes and the opportunity to travel around the world!

Come to the intro event on Wednesday 20th March at 6pm in MS.04. There's also free food!

Year in Industry

Still looking for an industry placement, cannot find anymore offers, need help with your application.

Then visit the Year In Industry website, fill in their career form and they will help you send your CVs to various other big or small companies that will meet your specific interests.

Don't let the £25 price scare you since Warwick undergraduates, a Midland university, are free of charge.

Their services are open till 24th February so get into filling their forms and they will contact you as soon as possible to finalise your application. Try it and you just may find something interesting.

Chancellor's Scholarships - deadline approaching!

Students and potential students have until Friday 11 January 2013 to apply for Chancellor's Scholarships, awards which support postgraduate research study.

Warwick has invested an additional £700,000 in Chancellor's Scholarships this year, and increased the duration to 3.5 years.

Taking a year abroad - meeting

Have you ever considered going on a year abroad during your Engineering studies? The experience and skills you'll gain from such an experience are varied and invaluable, and will make your CV stand out from the crowd... On top of that, it may prove to be the best year of your life!

A meeting will be held by Pr Roger Green and Amanda Ashby from the International Office for students interested in taking a year abroad on: Wednesday 21st November at 17.00-19.00 in A401.

You'll get the chance to find out about various opportunities to take a year out, including as part of the Engineering Exchange programmes or the Erasmus scheme.
