TitleSenior Teaching Fellow
Asadipour's research interests lie in the area of Human Computer Interactions (HCI), ranging from theory to design to implementation. In recent years, he has focused on realistic multisensory interactions with Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) environments, particularly on least explored domains (e.g. haptics, smell, and taste). A number of other research projects are also being conducted by him in the following fields:► Serious Games and Edutainment Applications
► Computer Based Information Systems (CBIS)
► Sensors & Electronic Systems
He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines to investigate the applications of digital innovations and user-centred design techniques in multidisciplinary projects (e.g. Healthcare and Social Sciences). Additional to his teaching duties, he acts as supervisor for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr Ali Asadipour is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Institute of Digital Healthcare, WMG, University of Warwick. He was appointed as a Research Fellow in an ERC funded project soon after finishing his PhD in December 2015. He has over 10 years of experience in both academia and industry in various roles such as research investigator, senior consultant, and director of several companies. In 2015 his invention was awarded runner up position in the top three virtual reality technologies by Innovate UK Committee among 150 leading innovations. He has acted as peer reviewer on multiple journals and conferences since 2011 (i.e. The Visual Computer journal, Eurographics, VS-Games and SeGAH).
He has completed a fully-funded Engineering PhD in 2015 at WMG, Warwick University. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from Computer Science Department at Warwick University, and a BSc (Hon) in Computer System Engineering. Asadipour is an associate member of Visualisation Group at WMG and ERC DISCONEX group at Social Sciences.
Asadipour holds a postgraduate award in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from Warwick University. He expects to receive his Fellowship title from Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) in 2017. He is a lecturer on the following modules in both postgraduate and undergraduate levels at WMG since 2012.2016-Present
