Dr Nidhi S. Sabharwal (CPRHE, NIEPA) joins DES as Honorary Associate Professor

Dr Nidhi S. Sabharwal has joined the Department of Education Studies as an Honorary Associate Professor. Dr Sabharwal is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education (CPRHE), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, India. She is Co-Principal Investigator (India Lead) for the Fair Chance Foundation project 'Widening Access to Higher Education in India: Institutional Approaches' (Co-PI Emily Henderson DES, Co-I Ann Stewart, Law, 2022-2026). Dr Sabharwal's current research area lies in the area of access and equity in higher education, with a focus on issue of college readiness, diversity, social inclusion and higher educational success of socially and economically disadvantaged students. Her extensive publication list includes: Caste, Discrimination, And Exclusion in Modern India (Sage, 2015), Bridging the Social Gap: Perspectives on Dalit Empowerment (Sage, 2014), India Higher Education Report 2016: Equity in Higher Education (Sage, 2018), India Higher Education Report 2022: Women in Higher Education (forthcoming).
