Tom Sorell and Jethro Butler participated in the Cybersecurity Ideas Cafe - a public engagement event hosted by the University of Warwick in Leamington Spa. Tom spoke briefly on Health and Cybersecurity before facilitating roundtable discussions on security issues relating to telehealth, telecare, and smart homes.

4th April - Tom Sorell contributed to a panel discussing the EPSRC Principles of Robotics Ethics

Tom Sorell contributed to a panel discussing the EPSRC Principles of Robotics Ethics at the 2016 AISB (Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour) conference at Sheffield University on 4 April. He contributed to the first formulation of the EPSRC principles in 2010, and has also been involved in British Standards Institute work on Robot Ethics.

Pepper the 'emotional robot'

Professor Tom Sorell was interviewed by VICE 'Motherboard' magazine about "Pepper, the 'Emotional Robot'" commented on the difference in robot uptake in Asia and the West, with robots generally being more popular in the former.
