Godiva 3 human-powered submarine

Warwick Submarine

Each year, a group of MEng final-year undergraduate students design and build a human-powered submarine, and race it on an underwater course, competing with other top science and marine engineering students from across the world.

In June 2017, the team achieved great success with their submarine Godiva 3 at the International Submarine Races (ISR), held in Maryland, USA. They won awards for ‘Best Design Outline’ and ‘Best Use of Composites’, and came third in their category for speed, reaching 2.52 knots.
