Open Access for authors

Open Access and the next REF

For the next Research Evaluation Framework (REF) process there is a policy on open access.

This policy states that to be eligible for the inclusion for the REF journal articles and conference papers accepted on or after 1 April 2016 must be deposited into a repository. University of Warwick’s policy is that all outputs should be deposited in our institutional repository, WRAP.

Find out more about what that means for your research and submit to WRAP.

Open Access news

IMechE Discounts - We are pleased to be able to report that with the renewal of our subscriptions to the 18 Journals of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Warwick authors now qualify for deep discounts on open access charges in these journals!

Any Warwick author publishing in these journals needs only to add the code NESLI2015 in the “University/Institution Account Code” field when applying for the Sage Choice option. They should then return the form to the relevant email address at SAGE as instructed on the form. An invoice for the discounted rate of £200 only will then be raised, a saving of £1400! But Authors must indicate they are entitled to the discount by using this code when initially applying for the SAGE Choice option as discounts cannot be applied at a later point, or retrospectively.
