University Pay by Mobile: Temporary reduction in parking charges
From the 19th April - 30th June, the Full Day tariff between Monday - Friday for the University’s Pay By Mobile service will be at the reduced rate of £3.50. More information about car parking can be found on an ongoing basis on the Car Parking webpages.

Pollen Bomb gifted to the University Art Collection for all to enjoy
An exciting addition to the University of Warwick’s sculpture collection has arrived on campus; Pollen Bomb by Joanne Risley - thanks to the generous support of award winning producer, director and Alumnus of the University, Lawrence Till.
Pollen Bomb joins the diverse range of sculptures available to enjoy and experience throughout Warwick’s central campus, which includes works by Richard Deacon, Atsuo Okamoto, David Nash, Laura Ellen Bacon, which was recently featured on the BBC’s Countryfile, and until October 2020 works by Jake and Dinos Chapman.
Doreen Foster appointed new Director of Warwick Arts Centre
Doreen Foster has been announced as the next Director of Warwick Arts Centre. She is currently Deputy Director of the Black Cultural Archives and, before that, chief executive of the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham.

Christmas lectures go off with a bang!
Setting crisps on fire, making spinach glow, and detonating hundreds of ping pong balls were just some of the experiments the children attending Warwick’s Christmas lectures were treated to this year.
Mind boggling optical illusions, giant glow sticks, drill-powered umbrellas, and hundreds of bubbles also featured in the interactive shows.
University of Warwick launches the freeflow Festival
To celebrate a new partnership with The Sunday Times/Peters Fraser + Dunlop Young Writer of the Year Award, the University of Warwick has launched the freeflow Festival.
Taking place on Wednesday 29th November 2017, the freeflow Festival is a day packed full of events across campus featuring some of the best names in the literary world including Owen Sheers, Sarah Moss, Natalie Haynes, and Jess Green. In addition, fresh from the Glastonbury stage and a five star run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the poets, rappers, musicians and storytellers - Tongue Fu – will perform at The Assembly in Leamington Spa.
Garfield Weston Foundation award £250k for Warwick Arts Centre expansion
The University of Warwick has been awarded £250,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation to support the expansion and upgrade of the Warwick Arts Centre, as part of its 20:20 project.
University of Warwick students take Kenilworth Arts Festival into second season
The Kenilworth Arts Festival will return this month bringing a host of award-winning musicians, best-selling authors and outstanding emerging talent to the town.
The new look festival, now in its second year, is the brainchild of Warwick post-graduate students Lewis Smith and Charlotte Thomas. It runs from 17 – 23 September with events taking place in a range of exciting and intimate venues around Kenilworth.
Warwick Arts Centres temporary theatre build begins
Construction work has begun on Warwick Arts Centre’s temporary theatre – The Goose Nest – this week (14th August 2017).
The new 280 seater auditorium will be open for nine months, from October 2017 – June 2018, whilst Warwick Arts Centre’s Theatre and Studio spaces are refreshed and renovated as part of the venue’s 20:20 project. The three year development will see the venue go through some major changes and improvements to the building, parts of which date back to 1974.
Warwick Arts Centres temporary Theatre Gets Cracking New Name
Warwick Arts Centre has named its new 280 seater temporary theatre, ‘The Goose Nest’ following a student vote lead by the Creative Warwick team at Warwick Students’ Union.

Lust, love and lies; Warwick to broadcast live open air opera
World-class opera performances will be broadcast live and free of charge for the University community and members of the public at the University of Warwick this summer. They will be beamed live from the Royal Opera House in London directly to the Big Screen on the main campus piazza on Tuesday 4 July (La traviata) and Friday 14 July (Turandot).
The first screening is La traviata on Tuesday 4 July, followed by Turandot, which includes the world-famous aria “Nessun Dorma” on Friday 14 July. The live broadcasts feature exclusive backstage footage and competitions, all adding to these special events in Warwick’s summer social calendar.
University of Warwick public sculpture wins prestigious Marsh Award
A sculpture on the University of Warwick campus by one of Britain’s greatest living artists has been awarded the Public Monuments and Sculpture Association’s (PMSA) Marsh Award forexcellence in public sculpture 2016.
Entitled ‘Habitat’ the artwork by David Nash OBE RA was installed in Diamond Wood on the university campus to mark the University’s 50th anniversary last year.
University shortlisted for six Tourism and Culture awards
The Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism and Culture awards are of real significance for our region, which boasts a phenomenal amount of world class assets for visitors to the area and locals alike to enjoy - and we've been shortlisted in six categories.

Coventry Fostering Families Have a Big Day Out
Saturday April 23rd saw hundreds of Coventry City Council’s fostering families and staff come together to have a packed day of fun for all the family at the University of Warwick. Coventry Foster Carers Association worked together with the University of Warwick and Coventry City Council and others to provide fostering families with a day packed full of family events.
Get involved in the curation of our new exhibition at Warwick Arts Centre
A Journey with The Waste Land is a unique and exciting opportunity for visitors to be involved in the curation of an exhibition responding to T. S. Eliot’s great poem. This exhibition, organised to coincide with the centenary of the end of World War I, will premiere at Turner Contemporary in Margate. From Margate, it will tour to Leeds Art Gallery and, in 2018, to the Mead Gallery. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance through the Box Office.

South Leamington schools take their first steps towards hosting their own childrens arts festival with The Boy Who Bit Picasso
Working with Warwick District Council and Arts Connect, Warwick Arts Centre are helping school children, their parents and teachers build their own community arts festival in July 2017. The Arts Centre is arranging for children to see new artistic work and work with artists so that they can make their own new work for their festival, but they’ll also be programming professional work, and marketing and delivering the whole event. Schools, business and community groups can all get involved in the project too, and the idea is that this becomes an embedded community event that will continue once our involvement with the project is over.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has today listed 41 post-war public sculptures across the country including University of Warwick’s 3B Series 1 Sculpture, in Rootes Building courtyard, on main campus in Coventry.

Festival of Music - win tickets!
The Warwick Music Festival will be a three-day festival of music and entertainment in and around Warwick Arts Centre from 21 - 23 May 2015. Structured around three ticketed evening concerts in the Butterworth Hall, there will also be free music and events in other venues and outdoor spaces. The festival will include ticketed performances from the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, Django Django and Joan Armatrading and will conclude with a firework display over the Piazza on Saturday 23 May.
